Office Assistant

We currently have a vacancy for an Office Assistant to join us on a temporary basis to cover maternity leave. Working as part of a team, the Office Assistant is responsible for providing an efficient office and accounts administrative service to the business, including assisting Legal Assistants in their role supporting fee earners and undertaking reception duties.

This role requires someone who is flexible and adaptable and willing to undertake a variety of tasks. We offer a competitive salary based on experience along with a wide range of benefits including 23 days' holiday (plus bank holidays), Perkbox membership and a colleague recognition scheme.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide day to day office administrative support to include the sorting and processing of incoming post, photocopying and scanning;
  • Support the accounts team with general administration duties including using accounts systems and a case management system, processing bacs and purchase ledger payments, processing travel expenses and raising client bills;
  • Ensure the smooth functioning and running of the office, including facilities tasks as required;
  • Support the legal assistants with assigned tasks on the case management system and paper and digital file management;
  • Undertake reception duties to include call handling, email distribution and greeting visitors;
  • Key holding responsibilities, including opening and closing the office;
  • From time to time, as and when required, the ability to travel and work from different business locations.

  • Experience of Legal Accounts administration

  • Full clean driving licence with own car
  • Experience of working in a legal environment
  • Experience of working in a Paperless or Paperlite Environment
  • Good IT skills including working knowledge of MS Office
  • Knowledge of general office health and safety procedures


  • Maths GCSE Grade C or above, or equivalent
  • English Language GCSE Grade C or above, or equivalent
