We raise our hats to HeadwayMay 26th, 2015
At CFG Law, we have taken part in Headway’s Hats4Headway campaign, donning a weird and wonderful range of hats for the day, to help raise essential funds for the brain injury charity.
We are a firm of serious injury solicitors based in South Manchester. With more than 30 years’ experience in handling complex compensation claims for clients who have sustained serious injuries, we also work with a network of charities to provide essential support services to our clients.
Headway is a national charity who provide essential support that helps to improve life after brain injury. Based in Nottingham, the charity has over 100 groups and branches throughout the UK and offer support, services and information. They also offer advice to medical and legal professionals who may be working with brain injury survivors and their families.
In order to help promote the brain injury, Headway holds an annual ‘Hats4Headway Day’ which asks participants to don a hat for the day – the more silly and unusual the better. The day is not only to raise money for Headway, but is also to raise awareness and money to support the Headway Acute Trauma Support (HATS) nurses, who provide support, both emotional and practical, to family members and carers of people who have recently acquired a brain injury. The HATS nurses are particularly crucial in the immediate aftermath of an injury, when people are still in Critical Care or High Dependency Units. There work goes a long way in supporting and helping people through this difficult time.
We are proud to support a large number of charities through a range of fund raising activities throughout the year, and staff needed no encouragement to wear a hat for the day whilst fundraising for Headway and the HATS nurses.
Alastair Fernie, Managing Director of CFG Law said, “Our firm regularly takes part in charity fundraising events – but Hats4Headway Day is always one we remember all year! We had everything from deerstalker hats and Indian Chief style headdresses, to bobble hats and Stetsons. Where’s Wally even made an appearance! We hope that our donation will go some way to support this fantastic charity, having seen for ourselves how the support they offer to survivors of brain injury makes a real difference to people’s lives.”
