Mark EllisAssociate, Serious Injury Solicitor
Mark has many years’ experience working in serious injury. He qualified as a Solicitor in 2002 and has worked in the field of personal injury since that time, specialising in serious injury cases since 2009.
Mark joined CFG Law in 2015 as an Associate Solicitor and brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the team here. In particular, Mark has amassed a considerable amount of experience when handling claims involving chronic pain, complex and serious fractures, spinal injury, psychiatric disorder and brain injury.
He takes special interest in traumatic brain injury, including new investigative options for diagnosing brain injury in cases of “subtle” traumatic brain injury. He also enjoys the challenge of chronic pain cases, which is often difficult to diagnose. Mark’s network of medical contacts mean that his clients are diagnosed quickly so that effective treatment can be put into place.
Having been involved in serious injury claims for many years, Mark believes that it is very important to meet clients face-to-face at the outset. This allows him to take the time to explain the litigation process clearly, start to take a proof of evidence and begin to arrange the necessary rehabilitation they need to speed their recovery. Mark also aims to liaise with his clients quickly, and in a setting they are comfortable with, so that he can assess their particular needs and arrange early interim payments to cover their immediate outgoings.
Mark believes in taking a sympathetic approach to his clients, but also in battling for the best possible financial outcome for them. He has secured many six figure settlements for his clients and is not afraid to make appropriate applications to court on behalf of his clients where necessary. He also believes in making robust representations for interim payments against insurers to cover the costs of surgery, rehabilitation as well as lost earnings.
Mark understands that there is more than legal expertise required when handling serious injury cases, it is also vital for a solicitor to ‘be there’ for the injured party every step of the way. He takes immense satisfaction in solving complex legal barriers, and obtaining damages that enables them to put their life back together following life changing and sometimes devastating accidents.
As an advocate of the rehabilitation code, Mark is also keen to make sure that his clients obtain the best possible outcome. Not just in terms of financial compensation, but also in respect of recovery. He believes in working with the best possible consultants or therapists to ensure his clients’ make the best recovery possible.
Mark is particularly keen to work with charities and medical organisations which support the firm’s ethical code and drive to provide top-quality rehabilitation and support to those who are seriously injured.← Go back to team page
