At CFG Law we have recently held a dress down day and bake sale to raise money for St Rocco’s Hospice. St Rocco’s Hospice provide specialist support for people living with life-limiting illnesses, not only for them, but also for their families. They also provide a specialist bereavement service for people who have sadly lost a loved one.
The charity was nominated by our staff, Nicola Hughes, Senior Associate Solicitor and Head of Personal Injury and Emma Yemm, Marketing and Communications Assistant. The charity was chosen by the two sisters as they have experienced first-hand the amazing work that St Rocco's do for families at such a difficult time.
Nicola and Emma also walked in the Starlight Ladies Walk on Friday 19th June to raise further funds for the Hospice. The walk, which starts at midnight, is an all ladies 10km walk. There was a large group of family and friends who participated in the walk alongside Nicola and Emma under the team name of Christine's Crusaders.
The dress down day and bake sale raised a fantastic £140.84, which was then matched by the firm to take the total to £268.68. Thank you so much to all staff members who donated and baked on the day, we certainly enjoyed lots of delicious cakes!
Nicola raised a total sponsorship of £664.96 and Emma raised a total sponsorship of £676.71. With Christine’s Crusader raising an amazing total of £2,706.74.
Nicola commented on the money raised, “We have been completely overwhelmed by the generosity of everyone who has donated, baked and sponsored us. The hospice does brilliant work and deserves every penny. Thank you so much to everyone for their kindness and generosity and a big thank you to CFG Law for facilitating the dress down day and bake sale, and for very kindly matching the total raised on the day. The walk was lots of fun and there was a great atmosphere on the night, all of Christine’s Crusaders enjoyed themselves and had a great time walking to raise money for St Rocco’s Hospice.”
