We have been awarded the Investors in People Gold Standard accreditation, along with their Health and Wellbeing Award for our ongoing commitment to investing in our colleagues. Achieving Gold Standard is testament to the learning culture we have at CFG Law whereby everyone throughout the business, with the support of their manager, takes ownership for their own learning and shares the firm’s values and ethos.

The Investors in People Health and Wellbeing Award is further recognition of CFG Life and the emphasis we place on supporting colleagues, not only in their professional careers but also with their health and wellbeing from a physical, mental and psychological perspective. We understand the importance and benefits for all our colleagues in maintaining a healthy lifestyle and work-life balance and promote this through CFG Life.

Client First Service

Our Client First Service is a full wraparound service focused on establishing clients’ goals from day one and providing complementary non-legal services.

Providing our comprehensive support services requires time and dedication. To ensure you can provide the support our clients deserve, you will work with fewer clients than is typical in the legal industry. This allows you to devote more time to your clients, to truly get to know them and their families.

It also allows you to work intensively and proactively on cases, resulting in full compensation for your clients without unnecessary delay. We also have an emergency fund available to help plug any gaps in the support our clients and their families are receiving straight away. This funding is often provided before any decisions on liability and ahead of any release of interim payments.

SPIRIT Core Values

Our SPIRIT core values are Support, Passion, Innovation, Respect, Integrity and Teamwork. These core values are integral to the way we work and reflect our purpose and goals, not only as a business but as individuals working within it.

We have regular colleague recognition awards based around our SPIRIT values, which are designed to promote working across the business as one team and to reflect that everyone in our business has a key role in helping to deliver our unique Client First Service. Each recipient of a SPIRIT award has been nominated by a member or members of the CFG team to say thank you for their great work and commitment.

Winners can choose from a variety of awards from vouchers, gifts cards for a meal out or a half day’s holiday.

Thanks a latte

Thanks a latte

We have two Thanks a Latte mugs which are awarded by colleagues to colleagues each week. These mugs are filled with treats and are awarded as a small thanks for something a colleague has done. It can be for anything and is a simple, fun way of showing your appreciation for someone in the office each week.

The winners of the Thanks a Latte mugs then pass on the thanks to another colleague the following week.

Social and charity

At CFG Law, we have a dedicated social and charity committee. The committee organises events throughout the year, to raise money for various charities, as well as social events.

Every year, we nominate a charity of the year for the firm to raise money for. Colleagues are asked to put forward any local charities they believe should be chosen as the charity of the year and these are then put to a vote. Dress down days and cake sales are held, with donations on the day going to the charity and the firm matching any amount raised.

In 2020, our chosen charity of the year is Coffee4Craig. The charity provides support for homeless people in Manchester, operating an out of hours drop-in service for people living on the streets. They provide support, hot food, food parcels, showers and medical assistance, as well as mental health crisis intervention.

Our charity of the year for 2019 was 42nd Street. They are a Manchester-based mental health charity providing support through counselling, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, online and group therapy to people aged 11-24. We raised a fantastic £3,000 for the charity throughout 2019, helping them to support more people across the Manchester area.

In 2018, our colleagues raised money for Dementia Friendly Heatons. We raised over £1000 in 2018 for this great charity, which has helped them to arrange events and activities for people who attend the drop-in centre and provide joy and happiness to people living with dementia and their loved ones.

We also enjoy spending time together as a team socially. We regularly have lunchtime social events making the most of our working environments in both our Cheadle and Manchester offices. We also have colleague social activities outside of working hours and the working environment throughout the year.
