We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Clinical negligence Solicitor/Legal Exec to join our team. Reporting to a Partner, the role holder will work as part of a small team managing a mixed value caseload of Clinical negligence cases meeting targets and KPI’s, and supporting the Partner with high value/catastrophic CN cases ensuring the best possible service is provided to clients in line with our Client First Service ethos.

The role requires an individual with an exemplary legal track record, who can work individually and within a team to:

  • Manage own caseload ensuring targets and KPIs are met
  • Manage, supervise and coach junior colleagues, ensuring the best outcome for the client and return for work undertaken
  • Utilise their knowledge and expertise to help build CFG Law’s position and reputation in its target market

Key responsibilities

  • Consider all aspects of the case management system and initiate and suggest improvements to current procedures and make effective use of precedent letters
  • Exemplary file management – paper-lite
  • Ensure case management system is accurate and information is kept up to date.
  • Keep, use and maintain accurate, complete and clear records at all times
  • Delegate tasks, supervise work and provide constructive feedback where appropriate
  • Provide excellent service to clients in line with core values and Client First Service
  • Establish and maintain effective and professional relations with clients and colleagues alike
  • Proactively resolve and negotiate solutions to clients’ issues
  • Draft documents which are legally effective and accurately reflect the client’s instructions
  • Plan, manage and progress legal cases and transactions
  • Initiate, plan, prioritise and manage workload to ensure timely completion to required standard
  • Maintain level of competence and legal knowledge needed to practice effectively and participate in training and development activities as required
  • Possess a thorough working knowledge of the CPR and court rules, as well as the various funding methods available to clients bringing CN claims.
  • Work with the wider team on business development and supporting marketing initiatives in line with our business plan

Skills

  • 4+ years PQE or equivalent experience with excellent working knowledge of claimant clinical negligence law
  • Excellent working knowledge of Personal Injury law
  • Experience of working towards targets and KPIs
  • Experience of working with cost budgeting
  • Experience of working with a case management system
  • Proven experience of managing, supervising and mentoring others
  • Experience of Performance Management and conducting formal review meetings and appraisals
  • Ability to develop and deliver training
  • Ability to delegate effectively
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong team player
  • Flexible to work outside office hours as required
  • Willing to travel in the UK as required
