Legal Assistant

We currently have a vacancy for a Legal Assistant to join our growing team who would be responsible for delivering a comprehensive and efficient support service to Fee Earners within the practice.

The role requires someone who can work as part of a team to provide day to day secretarial and legal support, which includes; the production of correspondence and documentation; dealing with assigned tasks on the case management system; paper and digital file management; diary management, to support our award-winning service for clients.

Key responsibilities

  • Managing the Incoming Documentation for the fee earning teams, re-naming, categorising and distributing documents in line with the Incoming Documentation Procedure
  • To action and progress assigned tasks on the case management system
  • Audio typing using digital dictation and production of documentation from Speech Recognition software
  • Production of correspondence and documentation, via case management system to include PDF Bundling and document sharing via a document sharing portal
  • Collating and managing client evidence provided for schedules of loss, e.g. receipts, invoices
  • Attending & liaising with clients, providing support and assistance in a professional and friendly manner, in keeping with the Practice’s standards for client care
  • From time to time, as and when required, the ability to travel and work from different business locations

Skills

Essential:

  • Experience in Personal Injury Law, preferably catastrophic injury work
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word (advanced), Outlook & Excel (basic)
  • Excellent communication skills and a professional telephone manner
  • Experience of using a case management system
  • Ability to work well within a team and support all Colleagues as required
  • Ability to work proactively and independently on own initiative
  • Adaptable with a willingness to embrace new procedures and the use of new software/platforms

Desirable:

  • Full Clean Driving Licence
  • Experience of using digital dictation and Speech Recognition Software
